Fort Worth's Most Eco-Chic Salon Primps for Debut of New Burleson Studio

A Fort Worth salon known for its eco-conscious commitment is emerging triumphantly from the pandemic shutdown and opening a second location in Burleson. Novak Hair Studios will debut a new salon at buzzy Standard at Chisenhall development in October.

Located at 279 W. Hidden Creek Pkwy., Ste. 1105, Novak will move into the space once occupied by Lux Machine.

“We have found a perfect home for our first expansion," says Novak founder and co-owner Benjamin Novak Hudgins in a release. "The Standard is committed to bringing new, exciting lifestyle options to the city of Burleson and we want to be a part of that journey."

The 2,600-square-foot multi-service beauty studio will employ 18 new stylists (dubbed "luxury solo artists" at Novak) who join a team of more than 80 at the downtown Fort Worth location. Hudgins says many of the flagship salon's clients commute from Burleson, so the new location made sense. The Standard at Chisenhall is a new 60,000-square-foot mixed used development that includes retail, restaurant, office, pavilion, green space, a bandstand, and bike trails.

The newest location will offer clients in the area a “high-end experience right in their own backyard,” Hudgins says.

The first Novak salon opened in March 2018 at 250 West Lancaster Ave., on the edge of downtown Fort Worth. It stood out immediately for its generous details: complimentary refreshments, free wifi, European-style adjustable shampoo bowls, a private processing lounge for donning a cape and foil in comfort, and a professionally lit studio for before and after photos.

But it was also the city's first salon to commit to a zero-waste, sustainable mission. The salon has earned the Green Circle Salon Certification with its air and water filtration systems, participation in a "save the bees" initiative, and even an effort to recycle hair clippings to clean up oil spills in the ocean.

The Burleson studio also will be equipped with the latest in air purification and water reducing systems. It will recycle of all hair foils, discarded hair clippings, and responsible disposal and cleaning of excess hair color chemicals, the release says. 

"One of our core missions at Novak Hair Studios is a commitment to changing the industry," Hudgins says. "That means not going to cities that already have zero-waste salons options for clients, but stepping into a space that is hungry for innovation and change. We think Burleson is ready for a luxury experience with sustainable benefits for everyone.”

Novak Hair Studios Burleson will host a grand opening "sip and see" at 11 am October 4. It will include tours, mimosas, doughnuts from Doughboy Donuts, giveaways, and live music by Artemis Funk. An after-party will follow at American Revelry, a new restaurant in the complex.
